Books for Growing Minds
by sharMillA Fassbender & SharMinEY Selvanathan
Reading is such an amazing way to connect with children. It encourages imagination, communication, development and building bonds. Our hope is to bring toddlers and their grownups together, and nurture their natural sense of curiosity in language, play and social connections.

About the Authors
Sharmilla enjoys life in NY, USA with her husband and 4 children, who are her world. Having lived in 3 different continents, she possesess a rich variety of experiences and cultural influences. With a Masters in Counseling, experience in Applied Behaviour Analysis, and now a SAHM, Sharmilla understands the importance of the early development stages in childhood. Writing children's books with her sister was an easy decision. They share a love of stories and whimsy which is a testament to their parents instilling the importance of reading in their upbringing. Sharmilla hopes that these stories inspire joy, play and imagination with children and their grownups alike.
Sharminey lives in Adelaide Australia with her partner and 2 beautiful children. Originally from Malaysia, Sharminey is a psychology graduate with a decade of teaching experience in play-based early childhood learning. While moving to Australia took her on a different career trajectory, she never lost her passion for the importance of development and learning in early years. Sharminey is first and foremost a mother and with a love for writing poems, decided to mesh her talents together forming a partnership with her sister to write children's books.
Raising her family in a country different to her own experiences, Sharminey cares about issues on inclusion, diversity and the importance of self love and acceptance.
